Engineering

Engineering Services is responsible for managing the Town's Capital Projects, infrastructure, environmental assessments, traffic management and reviewing development applications. The department also handles the design and construction of roads, parks, trails and streetscape.

Transportation Master Plan
The Town of Caledon is developing a Transportation Master Plan to study the existing transportation network and identify strategic actions to meet the Town's future transportation needs.

Urban Traffic Calming
One of the most common requests made by residents is controlling speeding and excess volume on residential streets. To address these issues, residents can submit the Urban Traffic Calming Request and Petition (pdf). This document is a subsection of the Urban Traffic Calming Manual (pdf), which builds a standard for fair evaluation.

Asset Mangement Plan
This report outlines the current condition of infrastructure owned, operated and maintained by the Town to support its core services. The Asset Management Plan (pdf) is useful to inform and guide decision-makers, as they manage our assets and plan for the Town's future.

New Land Development Requirements 

The Town of Caledon has adopted requirements for new land development to aid in the uniform design and construction throughout the municipality.

These Standards, Policies and Guidelines must be used by developers, consultants and contractors when considering development or construction within the Town of Caledon. 

These Standards, Policies and Guidelines provide:

  • Engineering submission requirements
  • Drawing submission requirements
  • Drawing specifications and requirements
  • Design requirements for storm sewers, roadways, landscaping, grading, lighting, noise attenuation erosion and sediment control, etc.
  • Administration fees, security requirements and reductions
  • Inspections
  • Traffic calming
