Trees

In the Town of Caledon, trees are an important part of our environment and in many places we have significant woodlands. Our Woodlands Conservation By-law sets out practices to improve the health and stability of the woodlands.

Please contact Municipal Law Enforcement Services before destroying any trees within the Town of Caledon.

Removing and selling trees

If you need to remove or harvest trees from a woodland on your property, you will need to fill in an application for a woodland permit.

Selling your trees can be complicated. If you wish to sell trees or are approached by a log buyer, consult a professional forester. Find more information on selling trees in Ontario.

Pests

The two most notable pests to our trees are the Emerald Ash Borer and the Asian Longhorned Beetle. If you think you have seen either of these pests on your property, contact a professional arborist.
