Town of Caledon to partner with Immanuel Christian Reformed Church for community garden

The Town of Caledon has partnered with Immanuel Christian Reformed Church to create a community garden to help beautify the Mayfield Recreation Complex, in honor of the Church’s 70th anniversary. A groundbreaking ceremony will take place to celebrate this partnership, along with recognizing the need for ongoing community partners.

“The Town is thrilled to be partnering with Immanuel Christian Reformed Church on this beautification project,” said Mayor Allan Thompson. “It’s partnerships like this that helps Caledon continue to be a strong and vibrant community-focused place to live.”

“We’re looking forward to this partnership with the Town of Caledon and are very excited to get this project started,” said Pastor Erick Schuringa. “As we celebrate our 70th year of being in this great community, members of our congregation will volunteer to help beautify the front of Mayfield Recreation Complex. This is just one way that we can extend the Church’s core value of service, and help shape the future of Caledon, which we have strong ties with.”

The Mayfield Recreation Complex offers a variety of programs and activities for youth, adults and families. The facility includes one arena (seasonal ice/floor), 25m pool with diving boards, one meeting/event room and one small meeting/conference room.
