Do you want to know how many job postings were advertised in the past year in a selected occupation? Or the skills required and salary offered for a certain job? Worxica, Canada’s first Big Data analytics research tool built specifically for job seekers and employers allows users to find the precise data on the skills and certifications needed for jobs in their respective fields.

Launched by Vicinity Jobs, Worxica is a curated online archive of job vacancies that provides access to more than 1.6 million Canadian job postings collected over the past year in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta, and in the past 6 months in all remaining Canadian provinces except Quebec.

Worxica is a free tool that allows visitors to simply enter a job title and location, and get a dashboard summarizing the demand for a selected occupation and region. For example, a search for “graphic designer” in Caledon aggregates the total number of job postings from surrounding regions of Mississauga and Brampton as well. The search also shows the advertised salary range and lists the total number of jobs available in Ontario. If a job seeker wants to know what kind of skills may be required for a particular job, the comprehensive summary compiles the soft and specialized skills that are beneficial.
