Criminal Record Checks and Police Checks

Criminal record checks and police checks are required for a variety of purposes including employment, adoption, international travel, volunteer work, citizenship, name change, student placement or to obtain a record suspension (formerly pardon).

The OPP Caledon detachment can complete criminal record checks only for individuals who live in Caledon.

To request a criminal record check or police check:

  • Step 1: Learn about what's required
  • Step 2: Complete the application
  • Step 3: Make sure you have the required pieces of identification (see Step 1)
  • Step 4: Make sure you have $25.00 in cash for the fee. (This fee is waived for volunteers.)
  • Step 5: Bring your completed application, identification and money to the Caledon OPP detachment (map) during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).

Please note: Requests can take up to two weeks to complete.
