Municipal, Agricultural and Community Grants (MACG)

2020 MACG Program

The Town of Caledon's Municipal, Agricultural and Community Grant Program is intended to support organizations with goals and objectives that support the 2018-2022 Council Work Plan

  • Is your not-for-profit community organization planning an event or working on a new project in 2020 that will enrich the lives of Caledon residents?
  • Does your organization support activities that serve our community throughout the year?

The application deadline has now passed. We will contact those organizations directly who will be recieving funding.

Next year's window will likely open in Fall 2020.

Priority will be given to groups or organizations that are aligned with the following criteria:

  • That are community-based and fairly represent their own interest and those of the communities which they serve; and
  • That maintain a historical and community link between our agricultural, rural and urban communities.

The amount of funding awarded will be subject to availability within the Town's approved 2020 Annual Budget.

  1. Sustaining / Continuing Support: Grants to community-based organizations and associations to support their ongoing operations.
  2. Project-based / One-time Support: Grants for specific and measurable community-based projects or programs. For event funding, see Categories 3 and 4 below.
  3. Event Funding Support: Grants for the purpose of hosting a public event of significant value to the community at large.  Fundraisers are eligible if there is proof of a charitable organization number. The event may be held at a Town-owned facility or another location.
  4. Public Venue Access: Grants to access Town-owned indoor or outdoor recreation facilities and services for an activity or event that enriches the lives of Caledon residents.  Applications for this category of funding are for activities or events held at Town-owned facilities only.

Are you eligible? Review the guidelines (pdf).

All applicants must supply a budget with their applications including an estimate of income and expenses.  Note: if you are applying for Event Funding Support or Public Venue Access, you may provide a summary budget for the event if an operating budget is not available. View a sample budget (pdf).

All applications received by the due date will be evaluated by the Municipal, Agricultural and Community Grant Review Committee. The Committee uses a Staff Evaluation Tool to determine if the organization has met the basic eligibility requirements for funding and to score the strength of the application and the funding need. Grant funds will be allocated based on the overall ranking of the application.

All grant recipients are required to submit a completion report to evaluate the outcomes of the events and identify how the project/event met its goals and objectives.

Upon submitting the online application, if you do not recieve an email confirmation that your application has been successfully received please contact us below.
