Bolton Transportation Master Plan

Posted on Wednesday May 21, 2014

The Town of Caledon and the Regional Municipality of Peel have initiated a joint study to develop a Transportation Master Plan (TMP) for the community of Bolton.

The purpose of the study is to address the transportation and road network concerns in the study area (see map) to support municipal planning goals for the short-, medium- and long-term.

The study will follow a comprehensive multi-modal  transportation master planning approach which will include developing a transportation vision for the  downtown core area.

Study Area

The Bolton TMP study area is bounded by Gore Road to the west, Caledon King Town Line/Albion Vaughan Road to the east, Old Church Road to the north, and Mayfield Road to the south.

Broadly, it will encompass the west part of Vaughan, the northeast part of Brampton, Airport Road to the west, and up to Highway 9 in the north for undertaking network analysis, goods movement characteristics, transit considerations and other broad aspects of the study.

View a map (pdf) of the study area.

The Bolton Transportation Master Plan Study will follow the requirements of Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) master planning process which typically represents Phases I and II of the EA process.

The study will be conducted in two parallel streams: Technical Analyses and Public Consultation.

Public Consultation will be undertaken to seek inputs from the members of the public, elected officials, stakeholders, municipal and agency staff and other interested parties or groups.

Public Consultation

This Transportation Master Plan is expected to address a broad range of transportation issues, priorities, objectives and implementation timings.

The Town of Caledon and the Region of Peel are committed to public participation and encourage residents, stakeholders and members of the public with an interest to contact the project management team as listed below.

Public Information Centres will be held during the course of the study.

A project webpage has been created and is available at
