Details:  Caledon Community Services will be participating as a partner charity in the CNOY national event on February 22nd 2020 - it's a 2, 5 & 10 km winter walk hosted in 133+ cities across Canada. The funds raised by Caledon Community Services will support of our work here in Caledon with the hungry, homeless, and hurting. Our poverty reduction programs provide care plans and tangible resources for these most marginalized individuals and families in Caledon. Basic needs such as home heating and nutritious food are provided alongside long-term goal setting. We are always striving to move people out of poverty and precarious housing and into opportunities that create independence and joy. Access to counselling, financial supports, food support, mental health services, and employment services address immediate needs while creating a pathway to move individuals and families out of poverty. Importantly, our collaborative work in the Exchange, Caledon’s community hub, weaves together many partner organizations pursuing poverty reduction collaboratively. Time: Registration opens at 4:00 pm. Walkers are released by 5:15, returning an hour or two later for a warm cup of coffee/hot chocolate and soup! What: Participants register online to walk 2, 5, or 10 km on a safe, looping 5 km route. There will be a rest stop and route marshals on the route if rest stops are required.
