Taxi/Limo Licensing – Public Information

The Town of Caledon licences both owners
and drivers of taxi cabs and limousines operating within the Town’s
boundaries. Licenced vehicles will have
a Town of Caledon licence plate affixed to the vehicle. Limousines operating in the Town must
provide their service only on a pre-arranged basis. Limousines are not permitted to solicit fares, be available to
service fares in a public place, and/or operate with a taximeter or radio
dispatching equipment.

Taxi Cab Fares
By Distance
Drop Rate $4.00
For each additional kilometer $2.00
Waiting Time
For minute of waiting time while engaged $0.40
For each hour of waiting time while engaged $24.00
Reduction for Senior Citizens
10% upon proof of age (60 years of age or older) on fares over $6.00. Flat rate trips not included.
Wheelchairs, walkers, etc.

As agreed upon at the time of hiring.

Level of Service
The
by-law governing the licensing of taxi cabs and limousines sets out
requirements for both owners and drivers, including:
• vehicle is clean and in good repair
• vehicle is free from mechanical defects
• smoke-free environment
• driver is dressed in a neat and clean manner
• driver behaves in a civil and courteous manner
