Niagara Escarpment Development Permit

The Town of Caledon Development Approval and Planning Policy Department is a commenting agency for Niagara Escarpment Commission Development Permit Applications and Niagara Escarpment Plan Amendments occurring within the Town of Caledon. In its review, the Town analyzes the proposal and performs a site visit to ensure that the proposal conforms with the policies of the Town's Official Plan and forwards formal comments to the Niagara Escarpment Commission for review and consideration. A fee is charged to the applicant for this service. A Town of Caledon building permit is generally required in addition to the Niagara Escarpment Commission Development Permit.

All development within the Niagara Escarpment Plan area requires the approval of the Niagara Escarpment Commission. Contact the Commission at the address below to obtain an application.
