The purpose of the Employment Land Needs
Study is to ensure that an adequate supply of employment land is available to
provide opportunities for economic development, provide jobs and meet
provincial policy requirements to provide employment lands to meet long term
needs. The first phase of the study is
the assessment of market demand for employment land and the adequacy of the
current supply to determine how much new employment land will be needed in the
2021 and 2031 planning time frames. The study was initiated as part of
the South Albion-Bolton Community Plan, but it addresses the need for
employment land on a town-wide basis and for Mayfield West, Tullamore and the
remaining Rural Area in addition to South Albion-Bolton. The Employment Land Needs Study 2007 has been
finalized as of February 11, 2010. The
final version incorporates revisions as discussed at the Council Workshop of
November 11, 2008 (link provided below).
