We need your ideas!
The
Town of Caledon is embarking on an exciting project to establish a
Community-Based Strategic Plan and Vision. This goal of this project is to lay
the foundation for Caledon’s sustainable and vibrant future!
In order to achieve continued economic, social, and environmental success in
the Town of Caledon, we are developing a plan that will guide us 10 years into
the future. We are asking all residents, businesses, and institutions in the
Caledon Community to share your thoughts and dreams for the future of Caledon
with us! By sharing your insight, we can ensure
that the vision, goals, and strategies for the future of Caledon reflect the
views and desires of people that work, live, and grow here!
There
are many ways to become involved:
● Attend the upcoming Town Hall Meetings
● Speak with your Councillor or the Mayor
● Complete the questionnaireavailable online www.surveymonkey.com/cbsp
● Participate in the youth contest
● Raise awareness of the plan with your neighbours, businesses, community
groups and associations, and local schools
● Speak with a member of the Stakeholder Advisory Team
● Contact the Planning & Development Department
● Join us at local events
● Contact the Mayor’s Youth Council

The Town of Caledon Strategic Plan and Vision
Process
● These
diagrams provide an overview of the phases and associated processes involved in
the development of the Caledon strategic Plan for the future.
Current Situation Report
● A compilation and review of the most
recent studies commissioned by the Town of Caledon. This report provides an overview of Caledon’s current situation. This report includes information regarding
the Town’s: demographics, industry and economics, social services, recreation,
cultural heritage, the natural landscape, municipal initiatives, employment,
housing, transit, safety and emergency services.
Community Engagement Plan
● This report
provides an overview of the collaborative planning framework that will be
utilized in the development of the Future of Caledon strategy. This report demonstrates the importance of
community engagement and also discloses the plan for getting the Caledon
community involved with this project. This report suggests that input from the
Caledon public, stakeholders, youth, business, industry, and community groups,
is essential in developing a plan that is consistent with the ideas of the
community.
Town Hall Meeting Materials
● This folder
contains information from the Town Hall meetings including Town Hall Meeting
summary reports, recorded comments, presentation materials and any other
relevant materials.

Youth Contest:
The youth of Caledon are being invited to provide their thoughts and
dreams for their future vision for the Town of Caledon. We are encouraging students from grade 6 to
12 to get involved in the youth contest. You have the opportunity to contribute your ideas for what you
want to see in your community today and in the future. Be as creative as possible with your
submission. An entry can be in any form
imaginable - whether it’s singing a song, making a YouTube video, writing a
story, making a facebook account, writing a poem, creating a photo mosaic, or
acting out a play – anything goes! More
