2 – COLLECTION OF POOL SECURITY & PERMIT ISSUANCE
You will be contacted by Town staff when
your permit is ready. You will be
provided a copy of
the “Pool Enclosure Permit” as well as a placard. The placard must be posted on your property.
If you reside within a subdivision, a
letter of credit for securities may be requested prior to a
permit being issued. The security is
collected to repair any lands or buildings damaged by the
installation of the swimming pool and/or fence. The amount of security required for an
inground/on ground pool is $2,000.00 and $500.00 for an above ground pool. For further
information on the security, please contact Cheryl Staeger at (905) 584-2272,
ext. 4249.
STEP
3 – FINAL INSPECTION & RELEASE OF SECURITY
It is your responsibility as the homeowner
to ensure a permit is issued before the installation
takes place. When the pool is complete,
with fencing, please call the Building & Enforcement
Department at (905) 584-2272, ext. 4213 to book the final inspection. Please note inspections
are conducted Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30
p.m. and 48
hours notice is required. The homeowner
must be home during the final inspection.
Upon final inspection we will confirm that
no damages were caused as a result of the
installation of the pool. Once the
inspection is passed, your security deposit will be
refunded to you.
If you have any questions regarding the
installation of your swimming pool and enclosure,
please contact the Administration Department, By-law and Property Standards
Section at (905) 584-2272.
Note: Be advised that a separate building permit
may be required for all decks, sheds, pool
houses or cabanas. Please contact the Building Section at (905)
584-2272, ext. 4295 for
more information.
