Caledon East Community Complex Expansion

Estimated completion: 2023

Project details: The expansion will result in a 52,000 square foot multi-level structure consisting of:  

  • Accessible access (by elevator) to the upper floor in pad 2 

  • A warm viewing area in both pads 1 and 2 

  • A full-service fitness centre with cardio and weight space  

  • A multi-purpose gymnasium  

  • An indoor, integrated walking track  

  • An aerobics studio for fitness programming  

  • Two multi-purpose rooms for community programs and rentals 

  • Centralized administrative space for staff  

  • Space for a dedicated Sports Hall of Fame 

  • A new concession area  

  • Versatile single tank pool and change rooms 

  • A branch of the Caledon Public Library, with a maker space 

  • Increased parking

Rotary Place Seniors Centre

Estimated completion: December 2022

Project details: The Rotary Place Seniors Centre is expanding to meet the growing needs and increased membership. This multi-year project will include the following new and enhanced features to the centre:

  • New modernized kitchen
  • Multi-purpose space for approximately 200 people that can be split into three (3) smaller spaces
  • Connection to Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness
  • Renovations to existing Rotary Place
  • Upgrades to existing mechanical
Bolton Rotary Bandshell

Estimated completion: TBD

Project Timeline:

  • Spring 2022 - Preliminary and detailed Design – Completed

  • October 2022 – February 2023 – Site Re-evaluation process

  • TBD 2023 - Tendering Process

  • TBD 2023 – Construction

Project details: The Town of Caledon and the Rotary Club of Bolton are excited to announce the new Bolton Rotary Bandshell in celebration of Bolton’s Bicentennial in 2022.The proposed bandshell is expected to promote and encourage local musical and theatrical productions, support creative arts within the community, and create opportunities for local programming such as:

  • musical productions
  • theatrical productions
  • outdoor movie nights
  • summer camp programming opportunities

  • general support of creative arts

A Public Meeting was held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, to provide residents with details on the planned Rotary Bandshell. As a result of the community feedback from this public meeting, Town staff are currently evaluating the location of the bandshell in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Bolton.

Operations Yard 2

Estimated completion: December 2023

Project details: Site alterations that ensure the Town of Caledon can more effectively deliver winter operation services and align with the Town's climate change commitment.

The upgrades to the property will include the following:

  • New salt / sand dome
  • Improved parking and flow to allow both people and vehicles to move safely around the site
  • Addition of solar covered parking
  • Addition of electric vehicle charging stations
Humber River Centre (Bolton Fire Station Renovation)

Estimated completion: Fall 2023

Project details: Repurpose the old Bolton Fire Station located on Ann Street. The new, fully accessible space within the facility is proposed to include the following amenities and upgrades:

  • Multi-purpose meeting space
  • Maker space
  • Community kitchen
  • Installation of elevator
  • Upgrades to mechanical / electrical systems
  • Accessibility improvements

Caledon Fire Station Expansion

Estimated completion: February 2023

Project details: Design for the expansion of three existing Caledon Fire Stations is underway:

  • Alton Fire Station #301
  • Mono Mills Fire Station #308
  • Palgrave Fire Station # 306

Some of the existing Fire Stations are no longer able to accommodate the increased number of volunteer fire fighters and their personal equipment as well as the new larger vehicles, therefore, an expansion of three existing stations is required to accommodate these items as well as training space and decontamination areas within the facilities.
Fire Training Facility - Phase 2

Estimated completion: December 2023

Project details: Phase 2 will consist of the following work:

  • Concrete pad for training props
  • Asphalt work
