Property Tax

Please Note: The next 2016 property tax due date is Thursday September 1, 2016.

Please contact the Town at 905-584-2272 ext. 7750 before the due date if you do not have a copy of your 2016 Final property tax bill.  Failure to receive a tax bill does not excuse a taxpayer from responsibility for payment nor relieve the taxpayer from liability to pay penalties and interest.

Notice: Possible Postal Service Disruption

Tax Insert In the event of a Postal Service Disruption, mailed payments may not reach Town Hall in a timely manner.

It is the taxpayers' responsibility to ensure the payment of property taxes by the due date.

To avoid late payment fees, please consider one of the following alternate payment methods:

  • In person at Town Hall, 6311 Old Church Road, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm by cheque, cash or Interac
  • Through your financial institution (in person at a branch, by telephone, mobile or internet banking),
  • By 24 hour Night Deposit box (cheques only please) at Town Hall, 6311 Old Church Rd, Caledon East,
  • At local Library branches (except for the Caledon East Branch)
  • Online by credit card at plastiq.com (service fees apply).

For payments made at financial institutions/banks on the property tax due date, please ensure you keep proof of payment from the bank for your records.

Late payment charges will be applied one day following the due date and on the first day of each following month that property taxes are outstanding. Neither the Treasurer nor Customer Service staff have the authorization to waive penalty or interest charges.
