The Development Approval and Planning Policy (DAPP) Department consists of the following sections which are involved in different components of the planning, development and building processes:
This section is responsible for the review, processing and commenting on development applications including urban design, landscape and engineering review. This section also manages and interprets the Zoning By-laws and provides information on development activity.
This office is responsible for promoting and developing heritage initiatives. This includes the creation and maintenance of the Heritage Register which is a list of heritage properties within the Town. This office is a liaison with "Heritage Caledon".
This office is responsible for providing legal services to the Town throughout the development process.
This section is responsible for the policy development and direction for major issues within the Town of Caledon, such as growth management, environment, mineral resources, transportation, agricultural and rural lands.
This section also manages the Official Plan and related amendments and ensures conformity with the Provincial Planning Documents and Legislation.
