Culture Days 2026 returns for September 18 to October 4!

In 2025, Caledon once again ranked in the Top 10 in all of Canada overall for Culture Days programming and was #3 nationwide for a small municipality!

Culture Days is a national celebration of arts, culture and heritage culminating in 16 days of free “behind the scenes,” activities to discover Caledon artists, creators, performers and heritage.

Open Calls for Artist Proposals

Join Caledon in showing off your talent! Caledon is looking for local individuals, performers, artists, workshop leaders and organizations interested in offering free, participatory events as part of the 16-day Culture Days Festival from September 18 to October 4, 2026. Got a great idea but need some help to make it a reality? Share your idea as a proposal and the Town of Caledon can offer partnership funding up to $400.

Proposals could be submitted by singers, dancers, poets, spoken word artists, heritage groups, community organizations,  museums, musicians, theatre performers and live painters, all are encouraged to submit a proposal to showcase their talents for all of Caledon to see.

Caledon Studio Tour

Ontario Culture Days is a national celebration of arts, culture and heritage that takes place every Fall across Canada. As an official Ontario Culture Days Hub Municipality, the Town of Caledon invites the public to engage in hands-on activities and behind-the-scenes experiences, emphasizing the vital role that arts and culture play in our communities. The goal of Ontario Culture Days is to provide barrier-free opportunities for the public to participate in arts and cultural experiences—with the aim of inspiring ongoing involvement in the cultural life of local communities. 

About

The Town of Caledon is excited to share the return of the third-annual CaledonStudio Tour on October 3rd and 4th, 2026 as part ofOntario Culture Days. We welcome applications from artists and craftspeople with an established studio within the borders of the Town of Caledon. This is not a juried tour, but an opportunity to showcase your studio and artwork to the public as part of the Town of Caledon’s Culture Days programming. There is no fee to apply. 

The Caledon Studio Tour gives visitors an exciting peek ‘behind the curtain’ to where art is conceptualized and created. This is a tour of remarkable and beautiful creative spaces around our community. With studios surrounded by forests, farmland, and quaint historic towns, visitors get a fascinating look at spaces and talent normally hidden behind closed doors.  
What the Town provides

  • Representation in a full-color, printed tour map  

  • Marketing signage throughout Caledon 

  • Access to the Toureka! Studio Tour App with an artist profile on the map with access to the Trip Planning feature and an Artist  

  • Digital, print and social media advertising of the studio tour. 

  • The opportunity to display and sell artwork to an engaged audience, to demonstrate art in process, and establish connections with clients, visitors and fellow artists. 

  • Professional photography of your studio during the Studio Tour 
Studio Requirements

  • Studios must be available during the Tour dates, October 3 and 4, 2026, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. 

  • Artists must be present in their studio at all times for the duration of the Tour and must be prepared to demonstrate and/or discuss their work during the Tour. 

  • Studios are required to distribute 50 brochures in the months leading up to the Tour. 

  • Studios are required to promote the Studio Tour on their website and social media platforms to support the Town’s marketing efforts. The Town of Caledon will provide marketing assets for artist use.  

  • Studios are required to erect directional signage provided by the Town of Caledon prior to the Tour and are required to collect signage immediately after the Tour for pick up by Town of Caledon staff. 

  • Artists are encouraged to attend a Studio Tour Artist “Meet & Greet” event to network with other artists and Studios – date TBC. 

  • Applicants are required to provide their contact information, studio information with opening hours, artist profile, and a high-resolution photo of their work to be included in the Toureka! app and Studio Tourguide. 

  • A demonstrated online presence through a website and/or social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) for the Town to promote and include in the Studio Tour guide. 

  • All mediums are acceptable. 

  • If you are an artist without a studio space and wish to showcase your work, please connect with Caledon Public Library about the Artful Caledon program for the opportunity to be featured in a Public Library branch  

  • All participants/studios must have commercial liability insurance valid for the duration of the tour. Studios will be required to show proof of liability insurance prior to the start of the Tour.   

    • If you do not have commercial liability insurance, the Town recommends contacting your insurance provider to add two-day commercial liability insurance coverage for the Studio Tour dates. 

  • Successful applicants must complete and sign the Town’s Waiver Form, which includes the Indemnity Clauses. 

  • Artists are solely responsible for handling sales transactions electronically (ie: Square, e-transfer, etc.). 

  • When open to the public, artist supplies, materials, and tools should be clean and organized. It is preferable to have some works in progress, some older and some recent examples of the artist’s work. 

  • All worksfor sale should be labeled and priced. 

  • Applicants are required to provide their contact information, studio information with opening hours, an artist’s profile, and a demonstrated online presence through a website and/or social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) for the Town to promote and include in the Studio Tour guide. 

  

*The Town of Caledon defines a "working artist" as an artist with a publicly accessible, permanent studio space where they create their art. A "working artist" will have a substantial body of original work (10+ works) available to display and sell during the studio tour weekend.

 
Process
  1. Respondent(s) to submit their completed application by the submission deadline of Friday, June 26, 2026.   
  2. The Town will review all Studio Tour submissions thoroughly and will select and notify applicant(s) that are found to be most aligned with the Town of Caledon and Culture Days’ festival goals.
